New podcast: How to return to work well after burnout

We're kicking off the new season focusing on how to return well to work after burnout and sick leave.

I think that it is really difficult to return to work well after burnout, and never more so when you are knackered, exhausted and in a position of vulnerability. Not only is this very challenging to navigate, but recently I've noticed that I am increasing asked about burnout on repeat. For those of us that have experienced burnout more than once, myself included (I'm a hideously overachieving medic, of course just the one episode of burnout isn't enough!!), any sign of habitual burning out really should be a signal to you to go back and do some really deep work on why you are not able to return to work and stay well.

This episode is aimed at everyone who is currently on sick leave with burnout, or has had a difficult return to work after burnout and is finding the return tricky. It's also helpful for anyone in HR or OH looking to help support someone to return to work well after burnout.

In today's episode I am joined by Dr Katya Miles. Katya is a GP and Occupational Health Doctor turned Wellbeing Trainer, Team & Careers Coach & Specialist in Workplace Wellbeing. Having journeyed through burnout, she resolved to empower caring professionals to avoid the mistakes she made, and thrive in work. This passion drove her to set up The Working Well Doctor where she uses her clinical and academic expertise, along with her personal experience, to deliver inspiring coaching and training programmes for overstretched professionals.

In this episode, we cover:

Why you need time off work with burnout
What things you need to do to prepare to return to work after burnout
Who you need to help you to return to work well
What changes and/or reasonable adjustments might be helpful for your return, both in the short term and in the long term
What a realistic return to work looks and feels like.

I hope you enjoy the new season. Don't forget to hit like and subscribe if you do! If you have any suggestions for topics you'd like to see covered in the podcast, please let me know.
